Mueller POA Dog Park Working Group
In April 2025, the Mueller Property Owners Association (POA) Master Board appointed 11 residents of Mueller and surrounding neighborhoods to an ad hoc dog park working group. The group is tasked with determining whether Mueller should have a fenced off-leash dog park to serve residents of Mueller and nearby neighborhoods, where a dog park could be located, and how it could be maintained.
Beginning in May, the group has met monthly with POA and City of Austin staff to gather information on a variety of topics such as dog park design, amenities, environmental impacts, cost estimates and funding sources, maintenance requirements, landscaping needs, and potential locations. Members also have discussed benefits, concerns and mitigation options for the pilot dog park project, and how to assess whether the project is a success.
The working group released a community survey on August 21 and invited residents of Mueller and nearby neighborhoods to share their opinions about the proposed dog park pilot project and three location options:
Northwest Greenway on Philomena Street next to the shopping center
Southeast Greenway at Tom Miller and Zach Scott, next to the skatepark
No off-leash dog park anywhere in Mueller
The working group’s final meeting is scheduled in September, at which time the group will discuss its recommendations to the Mueller POA.
